Food for thought: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is an inert material that doesn't biologically or chemically degrade with use, and is considered safe for contact with foodstuffs and beverages by various health agencies around the world. There however is some conflicting information available on this topic though - 'When subjected to high temperatures (60+ degrees) over a prolonged duration, PET can leach Antimony oxide in the amount of less than five parts per billion'. This amount is apparently however far below safety thresholds, and can hence be considered a non-issue w.r.t. toxicity of the material.
[Pros]
* Attractive, light weight & sturdy - the golden trifecta. I cannot stress enough how good these containers look.
* Airtight - Having stored various snacks and savories in these jars, I can confirm that they continued to remain crisp for weeks.
* Stack-able - These jars can be stacked on top of each other, as has been depicted in the product picture, in case of lack of shelf-space. Though a bit impractical, the option to do so is certainly nice. Keep in mind though that a clearance height of at-least 15" will be needed to stack all 3 on top of each other.
* Transparent - No more labels or searching through various jars to find hidden snacks.
[Cons]
* Size - The rough dimensions (H x W in inches) of the containers, in descending order of size, are 6" x 4", 4.5" x 3.5" & 3.75" x 2.5". Though the largest jar claims a capacity of 1200 ml, whether a 1 kg packet would completely fit in it depends on the item in question. If it's coffee powder or something of the sort, no problems whatsoever. However, if its rice or cereals, it could be a challenge. I'd recommend a larger size from the same range - CELLO Checkers Container Set (6-Piece, 2000 ml) or CELLO Checkers Container Set (8-Piece, 2500 ml) - for pulses and other such essentials, unless you're okay with storing some of them in their original packaging and transferring as and when needed.
In summation, this would be a wonderful purchase if you're in the market for new containers or if you're looking to increase the style quotient of your kitchen.
